The State of Michigan is home to the Automotive Capitol of the world. While this is true, in Michigan we have not invested in transportation and our roads. The roads in Michigan are the worst they have ever been. The number of potholes are increasing, almost unbearable, and are unsafe to millions of Michigan's drivers.

As State Representative, Durhal will seek funds for road repair and replacement, and encourage investment in creating a permanent plan for road maintenance.

Durhal will work to re-focus Gas Tax Revenues and earmark those funds to be used directly for Michigan's Road.

While Detroit is the Automotive Capitol of the world, there is still a need for Regional Transit in Southeast Michigan. Close to 40% of Detroiters do not own a vehicle. Our bus systems are not as reliable as they could be. This makes it difficult for some to travel back and forth to work, school, or to complete basic life tasks. The investment in Regional Transit has to increase so all citizens regardless of geographical location, have access to transportation to different regions in our state. In our region, we are currently spending 1/3 of what other regions spend on transportation.

In the State Capitol, Durhal will:

- Seek funding for road repair and replacement

- Create a permanent plan for road maintenance

- Support  comprehensive Regional Transportation for Detroit and Southeast Michigan.
