Every community has a chance to thrive and have neighborhoods that are clean and safe. Children deserve and environment that they can play and grow up in.
As State Representative, Durhal will fight to reduce blight, scrapping/theft, and foreclosures in our community. Demolishing abandoned homes and building newer homes which are more energy efficient, is a top priority. This is vital to a community that will be beautiful and sustainable.
Homeowners should be able to improve their homes and stay in their homes. Working with financial institutions on increasing the number of loans processed and lowering interest rates on mortgages is instrumental to our community flourishing. Durhal will work to lower the number of foreclosures in our community, support legislation against fraudulent reverse mortgages, and work to prevent neighborhood abandonment.
In the State Capitol, Durhal will:
- Secure state funds for community reclamation projects.
- Work with government and philanthropic agencies to develop housing
- Support Anti-Scrapping legislation
- Fight Blight
- Work with financial institutions to communities to combat the effects of foreclosure and abandonment on neighborhoods.
